Description A rare opportunity to obtain this fine example of Natrolite from the Sipi Caves.
Natrolite and other minerals are found at this locality lining cavities in lava that were originally wood fragments later engulfed by lava from Mount Elgon. Fine terminated needles of Natrolite project in towards the centre if the cavity preserving the original shape of the wood fragment. A small pale brown calcite is attached to some of the natrolites which opens at both ends of this fossil wood specimen.
